The desires of your heart

Just a little thought for reflection:  "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalm 37:14).  Today I was at a CCO Women's Night, where this line came up.  I recently came across this line in a blog in which the writer was pointing how it does not say that He will give us SOME of the desires of our heart, or only the desires of our heart that He wants; it just says - the desires of your heart.

What are the desires of your heart? Did you know God wants to give them to you?

The Bible also says, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides."  Just, think about it.

Also at the Women's Session, the prayer I mentioned and linked in my last post came up again, and I felt inspired to post it here in its entirety, and in the way it was written for me when I first read it in a letter from my friend and house mom on Impact this summer. It is truly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life, a genuine love-letter right from the Lord to you:

Be Satisfied with Me

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone, to have a deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But God, to a Christian, says,
"No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled, and content with being loved by Me alone, with giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me, with having an intensely personal and unique relationship with Me alone. Discovering that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found will You be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned for you. You will never be united with another until you are united with Me alone, exclusively of anyone or anything else, exclusive of any other desires or longings.
"I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing, one that you cannot imagine. Please allow Me to bring it to you. You just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest things. Keep experiencing the satisfaction that I am. Keep listening and learning the things I tell you.
"You just wait. That's all. Don't be anxious. Don't worry. Don't look at the things you think you want; you just keep looking off and away up to me, or you'll miss what I want to show you. And then, when you are ready, I'll surprise you with a love far more wonderful than any you could ever dream of. You see, until you are ready and until the one I have for you is ready (I am working even at this moment to have you both ready at the same time), until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life I prepared for you, you won't be able to experience the love that exemplified your relationship with me. And this is the perfect love.
"And dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love, I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me, and to enjoy materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty, perfection, and love that I offer you with Myself. Know that I love utterly. I Am God. Believe it and be satisfied."

(And now, you are probably wondering... what are these CCO and Impact things I keep mentioning? CCO - Catholic Christian Outreach - is a university student movement dedicated to evangelization that challenges students to live out their Catholic faith and become leaders for the renewal of the world.  It is on campuses all over Canada, and I have been involved on my campus since my first year.  We have a whole bunch of fun events that bring out a large number of students, and we also have small-group faith studies on campus that meet up every week to learn more about God and what it means to be a Christian. On my campus, CCO is the biggest student club, with over 100 students regularly involved.
Impact is a summer mission CCO puts on that gives students the opportunity to spend their summer sharing their faith.  From May to August 2012, I and 56 other students from all over Canada impacted the city of Halifax and the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth with a clear and simple way of looking at the basic Christian faith, particularly by leading faith studies in parishes in the Archdiocese. Here is a little official blurb for Impact: "On May 3rd, 57 students came together from across Canada to live in community for 15 weeks to build faith, community, and leaders within the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth.  The theme of IMPACT Canada is from Rev 21:5 'Behold, He makes all things new.' By working in the parishes in Halifax-Yarmouth, the Impacters have the opportunity to meet Christ and experience Him as if for the first time. Through a renewed relationship with Christ, they extend this same experience to the people and diocese of Halifax!" For more info you can check out CCO's website!)

Now, remember: "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." Amen?
